Lufkin First Assembly and FEE

Took a trip with Pastor and Andrew today to Lufkin First Assembly to spend some time with their staff. Very impressed with the staff we spent time with. We spent the most time with their outreach pastor Allen. This dude has so much passion for the lost, he inspired me. He has some great ideas for outreach that I will share in a later post, but one idea we are using is the gas buy-down. Which means we are going to lower the price of gas (.50 off) on 10 gallons per person. Lufkin First did this outreach last year and had great success. We are planning on doing this outreach soon. I just want to have the most killer egg hunt first.

Heres what a great foyer looks like...

Tim,

Hey, what's up? Lufkin's got it going on! I like that cheaper gas idea.

After the SAGU conference, I checked out The Church of Corinth's website out of curiosity: www.thechurchofcorinth.org and they've got a lot going on! Me and Mike are thinking about visiting them on a Saturday night. Mike's boss lives in Corinth and we've invited him to our church for Easter, but it is pretty far. Maybe he'll go to this one - they had great music at the conference.

Here was our set list from Sunday (Garland First Assembly):
*Arise
*Glory in the Highest (Tomlin, I think)
*Hosanna - Hillsong United - this song is going over very well right now
*Lord, I Give You My Heart (not sure of official title)
*I Surrender All

Have you heard the song "The Cross" by Kevin Max yet? Man, oh, man. Dude, get it from iTunes and send it to me, please. It is from his new album and it reunites Toby Mac and Michael Tait. The harmonies are gorgeous.

I'm lovin' Fee right now as well as DC*B and Brooke Fraser. Can this girl write songs or what? Both "Lead Me to the Cross" and "Hosanna" on Hillsong United are knockouts. If I could choose another voice, it would be hers - that breathy, soprano Irish lilt sounding voice is beautiful. What's her background? I'm also digging the new Tell the World kids CD from Hillsong. We're using it for Kids Choir and it is high quality, cool stuff.

Talk to ya later.

Love ya,
Julz
